Amr El SawafIn-house Counsel – Commercial Insurance

Amr specialises in analysing the legal issues that clients will likely face through the claims process. Each client’s circumstances are unique, so this analysis helps him to implement appropriate strategies that achieve the best outcome for each client.

Amr has over 3 years of legal experience specialising in insurance law, after graduating from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Commerce and a Language Diploma in Spanish.

Darius ShahtahmasebiIn-house Counsel – Residential Insurance

Darius’ area of expertise is loss recovery. He has over 4 years of post-qualified legal experience in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, law reform and international and public law, among others.

This experience helps him to work alongside clients to obtain the maximum compensation for their residential insurance claims resulting from the Canterbury and Kaikoura earthquakes.

Darius is passionate about client management and putting the needs of the individual client at the forefront of his work, which enables him to deliver the best available outcome for each client.

Hugo Campos NietoDamage Assessor – Residential Insurance

Hugo works alongside Vismay Shukla as part of the engineering team responsible for carrying out the damage assessment to each client’s property.

They understand that the most substantial earthquake-related damage lies in the foundations, therefore Hugo’s focus is to provide a thorough collection of evidence from the subfloor, and link it to the damage found throughout the rest of the house. Our team uses state of the art technology to help with this, including one of the most advanced robots in the industry.

Hugo has over 2 years of experience as a damage assessor, in addition to 9 years of experience as a photographer, which has helped him to develop a keen eye for finding evidence of damage to help with each client’s claim.

Vismay ShuklaTechnician / Draftsman – Residential Insurance

Vismay works together with Hugo Campos Nieto as part of the engineering team. His role includes finding earthquake-related damage in each client’s property by carrying out a detailed subfloor and superstructure inspection. They will then put together an engineering report for each client detailing the damage; including technical plans and photos of the damage.

Vismay has over 3 years of experience in the construction industry, a Diploma in Civil Engineering from India, and an Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering from Ara Institute of Canterbury (formerly known as Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology), where he studied structural engineering.
